Boxed In Block from the book Modern Blocks |
I`m so enjoying being part of the bee, We Bee Modern Too, where we make blocks from the book
Modern Blocks compiled by Susanne Woods. This block is called Boxed In and was designed by
Faith Jones. It`s for Heather who asked us to make it in solid red, black, white and grey or in fabrics which would read as solids. Heather will be making the blocks up in to a charity quilt for a pre-teen or adolescent boy. This block is super easy but very striking. I quite fancy making a quilt from this block myself - in solids. My new love.
Trying to get as many things ticked off my list before we go to the airport this evening to collect my mum!
I thought this was D9P but I see it's different and very striking. I love
ReplyDeleteB & W with red. Enjoy your mum's visit.x
Oh, that is lovely. I just pinned something similar the other day. Seems I am being drawn to these "boxy" patterns!
ReplyDeleteLooks great, even to my solid-dubious eye!
ReplyDeleteI love the tone on tone prints with the solids, subtle but effective.
ReplyDeleteVery cool block and suprisingly I really like the dark fabrics.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! We just made that block last month in a bee. So easy but a quilt of them would look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLovely block! You will enjoy having Mum visit, I bet!
ReplyDeleteLove it the colours really pop with the dark fabrics to contrast with them! =D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I especially like the wee little black dandelion print square. :) This seems like such a versatile block design too.
ReplyDeleteHeh, I know that check list idea! Have fun with your mum :o) (mine's coming up to play this weekend)
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely!
ReplyDeleteLooking good!
ReplyDeleteI love the solids blocks you are making - just going to have to take the plunge and give them a whirl!
ReplyDeleteGreat block!
