Beach Reads as Recommended by You

Sidi Bouzid, Morocco
Thank you to everyone who has entered my 100th post giveaway here.  It's still not too late to have a go.  I'll draw the winner on Friday 9.00 AM Morocco time (GMT +1) and announce the winner shortly afterward.

Thank you for all the great beach read recommendations - here is the list as recommended by you and I can certainly say there is something for everyone...from the legendary Jackie Collins to W. Somerset Maugham. I have asterisked the ones I`ve already read and I would certainly re-visit any of them - they are all excellent beach reads.  I hope to pack some of your suggested books when we leave for Sidi Bouzid at the end of next week.  In the meantime I still have to move house.  Yikes!

I'm going to keep the list. There are some on there that I have not read yet, either.

Cool list. Shall keep it and use it next time I do a download from Amazon. I find myself lost when I am looking for books in their Kindle shop and I wander aimlessly in their Internet maze. As much as I like the price and convenience of electronic books I think browsing in a proper book shop is one of life's great pleasures.

Two highly recommended suggestions by me

The House at Sugar Beach by Helene Cooper
non fiction
growing up in the 70's as a member of the over-privileged elite in Liberia.
So far very funny and sharp but things turning darker....
She now writes for the New York Times.

my best book of last year

The Hare with Amber Eyes by Edmund de Waal
non fiction, family history, art history, 20th century history.....just plain well written.

Both of these read easily and quickly but have important things to say.
love from too sticky NY!
He lives in South London......I met him in NY

i see the friday night knitting club is on there - I have read that too, and it's a great book. There is also a sequel to it: i can't remember the name, but you have the author so should be pretty easy to find. Good luck with the move

I had to laugh - I've read the exact same ones that you have. No more, no less!
