My Name is Annabella. I`m a Fabraholic.

At one time, I had very little fabric.  Now I seem to have quite a lot.  That`s the problem with ordering fabric from the States and having it sent to my mum`s home in England. You kind of forget.  Forget how much you have ordered.  Until it arrives.

I`m coming out of denial. I think I may have a problem. If you find yourself looking at fabric stores online rather too often or in secret, stroking fabric, having thoughts about fabric just before you sleep and first thing in the morning and being unable to make that first cut, let`s sit in a circle and one by one stand up and make that declaration.

I. AM.A FABRAHOLIC.

That`s if you want to recover that is.  Do you?

I'm with you. When I first started quilting two years ago, I'd just get fabric for one project at a time. Now, I have tons of fabric. Last year I went on a "fabric diet", from Nov. to May of this year. No purchases, unless it was necessary to finish a quilt. I'm going to do it again this Nov.

Oh that is a lot of fabric - but it is all lovely. I've started to collect some fabric but can't do anyting with it yet. Frustration aaargh.

Particularly like that last bunch. It's really not a problem you have, just an alternative form of investment ;-)

I do the same thing! I shop all year round, send it to my parent's house in the US and am surprised when I visit for Christmas. I love it! You have a lovely set of bundles there :)

Was there any room in your poor mother's suitcase for clothes?! As always, you hace impeccable taste in fabric.

I have acquired a HUGE quantity of quilting fabric (but also knits and flannel and corduroy and other things for making kids' clothes) -- and most of the stash-building happened during the past 12 months or so. I am now on a semi-strict fabric diet. (I have enough fabric to make many, many quilts....) But I also know how much pleasure I have derived from all those fabric purchases, so I don't beat myself up about it. Enjoy!!

I'm glad you were able to get that off your chest! You'll be busy.

I'm a fabraholic, too! I gave up buying fabric for Lent one year. Trying to use up stash---but the new fabrics are just so pretty!

I’m afraid I can’t help you cause I’m a member of Fabraholics Anonymous too!

I try to think over purchases for 24 hours now and often I’m glad I didn’t push the final submit button on an order form...

Oh I am not a Fabraholic, no not me, I can handle it, not a problem!

Hope mum is OK with the one bikini she could squeeze in the suitcase!

*Ahem* I don't think you have a problem. Really. Just like I don't. I've actually smuggled my last few packages into the house so DH didn't see. Now, when I'm doing that, its a bad sign. Doesn't stop me ordering though. I blame the blogging. You see, I'm just looking at your last pic of that Pick a Bunch thinking, oooh, need some of that. LOL!!!

We all have the same problem, but it could be something much worse..........

Ugh! I know how you feel! I dream about fabric.

totally have the same problem. Dont really want a cure - just want customs to bugger off and stop taking my parcels, and the royal mail charging me a "handling fee" for something they're making me go out to collect from them.... cheeky.
But will it put me off buying from the states? Hahahaha..whaddya think?! x

Oh gosh im glad other people have this problem. It's worse than chocolate. Nip off into the spare room (where fabric is kept) and look at it / put it in different orders... Order fabric because nothing nice has come in the post for a while and that arrival tnrill is so good... !

LOL!!! This is too funny!!

I, too, am a fabraholic.

I am a fabricaholic too. But I am on restriction from on-line ordering until I use up some of my stash. My sister is a fabricaholic also. She is dealing with her addiction by de-stashing her excess, and giving it away .... to me. She gave me 2 bags full yesterday and her husband kept asking me if I didn't want to take more?

Collette said...

gorgeous fabric! I too am addicted but don't have quite as much as that! x

Glad to see you've joined the club - I recognize many of the fabrics - I think this may be an indication that I have an even worse problem! But you know...as i tell my husbands...there are worse things....and thankfully he has no idea what fabric costs!!

I agree with Helen...I am a fabricaholic and I admit it. Love your additions to your stash. Now we must start a real sewing frenzy.

A PROBLEM with too much fabric? Does not compute... ;o)

I am also an avid collector of all things material, but I do like your choices, and I've not seen any of them yet...

Hello Miss Annabella

Ok - can I come with you to therapy.

I'm a fabraholic too.... It's been.... well all my life that I can remember.

Please is there some treatment for this or can we just keep this failing economy going and keep happy.

At least you are sewing - I am dying to get into that again one day...

hugs

x Loulou

I'm currently on a fabric, yarn and fibre diet; might have to add haberdashery into that as well I think. Trying to use what I have of all the different things.

hi Annabella

Isn't that what you're supposed to say at Fabric Anonymous when a person goes up there and introduces herself? ;-)

Well, I think fabrics are pretty harmless, it could definitely be worse!

PS. That bag you made in your other post is very pretty. I like it. It looks like a very happy bag with its owner even more happier ;-)

Love all your new fabric! I don't have a fabric addiction...I can stop anytime I want...I just don't want to ;o)

Dianne Neale said...

I'm sorrry, I didn't realise this could be considered a problem. Don't all people buy this much fabric?

Rebecca Lynne said...

I certainly DO NOT. I'm with Dianne - is there such a thing as too much fabric? Annabella...really!!!
