Yesterday, Alison inspired me to do some some different hand stitching from my EPP hexies (after I saw this post). It really inspired me to do some hand piecing and so I dug out the pattern and some template plastic and made Block 1 (it looked the easiest).
I feel like I may have conquered inset seams.
Block 1 Camelot quilt |
The actual cutting of fabric takes longer than the hand piecing or so it seems, so I think this will be a block or two a month - if I'm lucky!
I want to make this from scraps and my low volume layer cake from Rebecca's recent swap - once they arrive!

That looks lovely! Hand piecing scares me, maybe I'll get there one day.

Camelot is a great pattern. I have a version of it, I just don't need another slow sewing quilt! I love your colour selection!

Nice to have a slow project - think this will be something very beautiful.
This is a great block! I love circular blocks but I so far I've shied away from doing a whole quilt :)
Love your hand piecing! Enjoy each little block and big breath R-e-l-a-x! Great to do by the swimming pool....though maybe not in it!
Very yummy, nice and slow but will be well worth it in the end!
Hi Annabella, It's been awhile, thanks for stopping by and visiting me, I love that! I see you're still making beautiful works of art with your quilts. Hand-stitching? Amazing.
The other day I was carrying my sewing machine down the stairs and the latch opened - the machine went tumbling down the whole flight of stairs, demolished. I'm thinking that it was a blessing as that machine never gave me anything but headaches, and now I get to shop around for a better one. Any recommendations?
Happy week to you Annabella.
