I`ve lost...

...my creative mojo.  I must have left it in our old apartment as it`s certainly not in our new place.

Just before we left for our hols, the pink Shashiko thread I had ordered to tie Deborah`s quilt arrived. It took 3 weeks to get here.  So this morning I set out to tie the quilt. My first `sewing` in over 3 weeks.  Perhaps I wasn`t in the right frame of mind or it was just too hot but I kept losing my needles, losing the scissors, losing my mind and the needle threader thingy broke and I just got in a muddle and a pickle and gave up..for today anyway.

So I`m leaving you with a photo of a blue and yellow parasol...well it is summer isn`t it? And I`m linking up to Heidi has a Hobby who is starting a new photo challenge called Hump Day `Hollah!` I only recently discovered Heidi`s blog and she takes lovely fun photos and well anyone starting a new meme is brave and should be supported...and the name is just great.

It's just like that sometimes isn't it? I also have a quilt to tie, for the guest bed. Two sets of guests have managed without it so far and I have BiL arriving on Saturday, I expect he'll manage without it too! I'm doing some hand sewing but not much else as I have my knee in a splint at the mo! Like you say, it's summer, let's all head for the beach, we can stitch all winter long!

I can sympathise! It happens, you have a break and then it all seems so difficult to get back in to. When you're ready your mojo will suddenly appear and there will be no stopping you: in the meantime, go with the flow :-)

But the flip side is you create such lovely images! I have Photoshop Elements and I'm sure I read on page something or other how to take the colour out of the background but I can't for the life of me remember how to do it now.
Really effective and really, really like it!

Thanks so much Annabella for joining the new challenge. I love your photo-that color really does pop! And I also understand the comings and goings of that "creative juices run wild and naturally" deal-it is really tough to get through those downs. The good news is that you still created something beautiful in your "slump"... Have a great day!

well I love the blue and yellow umbrella, and totally understand those days when nothing seems to go right. I think loss of creative mojo is hitting a few people of late. I like to believe that it's a natural ebb and flow thing, to be expected, and to use that resting time for renewal. the weather isn't helping - oh my the summer heat! I'm going to be checking out Hump Day Hollah; I so agree that anyone starting a new meme IS brave and ought to be supported! I hope you have a joyful day Annabella. I love the photo in previous post btw.

when it gets hot the last thing anyone would want to do is sit with a quilt on their lap and sew!

So, I found you, Annabella! Thanks for the lovely comment on my blog. Your photo is so striking. I can't imagine what brave soul trekked out onto those rocks.
I'm so glad you found HHH's site. She is even better in person. I told her once that the moment I met her I thought, "This is someone you want instantly for a friend." She actually inspired me to start my personal blog. What a gal!

Losing your creative mojo is no fun at all! I have lost my sewing mojo, and feel a bit drab because of it, but still have my creative mojo in other areas like photography, so I will head on to Heidi's and have a look, thanks for the suggestion. Hope you get your mojo back soon.

I like the bright colours of the parasol against the gray shades of the background. Mojo comes and goes - hope you'll have it back soon:)
