Confucius Say...

..."she who drops her phone in the toilet in the morning will have bad day quilting."

And that`s exactly how it was on Monday hence my funk yesterday for which I`m sorry.

I would just like to say that the swaps I`m in are organised fabulously and the swap mamas are supportive, encouraging and super helpful.  My downer on swaps is all to do with the mysteries of the world postal `system` and my quilting inadequacies!

So on Monday, after an inauspicious start to the day, I spent the afternoon quilting my For the Love of Solids mini using a square spiral design within each wonky log cabin and some pale green thread.  I wasn`t loving it but I carried on.  That was my mistake.

As I came to the last wonky log cabin I ran.out.of.pale.green.thread.  Hence my funk yesterday as with no LQS to run to, I had to rip out all the quilting.  It took hours! I changed tack, got the painter`s tape out and quilted it using a taupe thread in an abstract straight line design.

...personally I like the back best.

I`ve tried my best and just hope my partner likes it...

...she`s a serial swapper and knows what she likes.  I have to make a small something to go with it and then it`s ready to be posted.

My big worry now is my Mouthy Stitches` pouch.  There is linen coming to me and it should have arrived by now and it`s this kind of thing that causes swap stress.  If it doesn`t arrive today then it`s Plan B...

Poor you! But I think it looks absolutely brilliant the way you have done it so you (and your partner) should be thrilled with it.

Oops on the phone! I have had some near misses on that one. I love the quilting and I am sorry that you had to take out the earlier quilting. It is a wonderful quilt.

I love the solids quilting - put the phone in a bowl of rice - it works, believe me!
As for the post - bastards x

The final quilting looks great! I think I probably would have lost it if I had to rip out all that work to tell you the truth. ;) I hope the rest of the week is a bit less stressful for you!

Boo to the unpicking, but it looks great now! (is the phone in an airing cupboard in a bag of rice right now, or have you held funeral services?)

This is the kind of quilt that makes me want to go home Right Now (I'm at work obviously) and start sewing. That first pic with the quilt under the machine is yummy so don't worry about the phone. A bowl of rice is the way to go to soak out the water!!!

Such a shame to have to pull out all of that stitching Annabella - but I really love the more abstract quilting that you have done!!

I'm sorry you had to rip the first quilting out, but it looks great now. I think the back is my favourite, too.

A phone in the toilet, that's my big fear because I do take mine with me quite often. Ha! But on the other hand your mini FTLOS swap is turning out grand. Now Mr. Postman, make like Santa and fly to Morocco!

It’s looking so good now Annabella!

It must be hard to depend on postal services for your quilting fabrics and notions. I keep my fingers crossed the linen will arrive soooooon!

ripping out all the quilting, just so distressing. But the abstract quilting is fabulous, I'm sure your swap partner would be delighted! Do hope the linen arrives quickly. x
