A Belated Welcome to September

Part of the lens at Portland Bill lighthouse
A big late hello to September!  I love September.  It always feels like a time to learn something new. I guess it goes back to living in London when details of all those amazing night classes would be published.  I was always enticed by languages and did try my hand at Italian one year but now all I can remember is how to say `You have brown eyes`...not so useful in Morocco as nearly everyone has brown eyes and they probably wouldn`t appreciate being told the news.

Anyway, September is officially sewing month and it`s only Day 4 and I am already behind. We went away for a few days last week and stayed in a hotel by the sea with 180 degree views along the coast.  But I was ill.  I lay in bed and looked at the view.  Upsides? Zaki spent time with his dad at the beach.  By the pool.  They had lunch together. And dinner. I languished.  Not even a decent internet connection to distract me.  In fact  it was lousy and that was mildly distracting.  Now I`m back.  I have lots to do.  And I will come by and say hello.

So glad you are feeling better! Being sick is no fun, but especially bad when you are supposed to be enjoying a vacation!

Your comment about brown eyes made made laugh.
Your hotel sounded lovely until I read you were ill. How awful being ill on holiday. Hope you are feeling better now. Nothing worse than being ill when you are away from home.

Poor you being ill on your break. Glad you are feeling better, but if you are going to be sick it is easier to put up with it in your own space.

I am sewing today. Between being the police for two rowing, whingy girls who need their heads thumped together. Holidays are most certainly over indeed!

But it is good to be sewing. Now all I need is peace and quiet. Two more days and counting!

Can't wait to see what you have been up to with your sewing!

What a shame being ill on holiday.Hope you are fully over it now.I love September too.We are enjoying a lovely sunny day here in North Wales. You know there won't be many more of them so you just have to take your book outside and soak up the sun.

Oh being ill is no fun, especially when not surrounded by your own stuff.

Hope you have a better September xxx

No fun being sick when you are hoping for a great time.
Take care.

sorry you were ill on your time away, but glad you are feeling better. I was thinking of you when we were in Turkey last week, wondering how you put up with the heat like that all the time!

What a shame you were ill when you were away - I always think that's much worse than being ill when I'm at home. Somehow your own bed is always the best place to be when you're sick. Hope you are feeling much better now!

Funnily enough ive just written a post with a similar theme, about wanting to learn something new this autumn! I learnt German at school and the main thing I can remember is how to give directions..and to say I love football(I really dont!) and I think the chances of me giving directions to a german are fairly slim...since im useless at giving/recieving directions in my native tounge!! sorry to hear you weren't well on your holidays, we all stated off the summer hols ill and now in the last few days are ill again...a well rounded holiday me thinks!! x

How horrible that you got sick!

I think I'm beginning to embrace September too, slowly though. It was my favourite month when we lived in Iceland but now the spring months in Antwerp have completely stolen my heart.

I do love the feeling of September, I am not particularly fond of Summer and hot days.
Davvero hai studiato italiano? Io ho gli occhi blu...

Welcome to September to you too! (Autumn in Scotland really is my favourite time of the year - the changing colours, the wonderful light etc etc). Although I have seen little of it so far as like you I have been ill - but I won't bore you with that. Hope things are looking up for you.

Again like you I believe September is a time to start learning something new, having enrolled in many evening classes over the years: photography; psychology; German; bookbinding - plus, plus, plus. But I can't do classes at this time of year any more because I have am a crafter and I have to start my making of Christmas (I know the 'C' word already!) crafts for upcoming Christmas events and the distraction of evening classes gets completely in the way of things.

Pleased to have been able to access your blog again, I have been unable to for some time now - I know not why. I will try to catch up on what you've been up to but for now it is bed time. Nite, nite!

oh too bad you weren't feeling well for your holiday, but that must have been precisely what your body needed and so you got rest. I've never seen the lens of a lighthouse up close, this is fantastic. most of the lighthouses around my area have removed them. love your photo and how you composed it. the light is superb. happy day to you Annabella! hope you're feeling much better today.
